Each moment is an opportunity to increase awareness—to change the sort order of perception. To these ends I have explored Lao Tzu's Tao Te Ching, the ancient I-Ching oracle, the Upanishads, and the Surangama Sutra. I've tried to incorporate them into the way I conduct my life. Common values bond community and individual clarity strengthens community.
Photography is a process to clarify my perception of the world and enable purposeful reflection. In a sense I am fulfilling my degree in cultural anthropology by using my camera to explore the layered fabric of human artifacts.
Ultimately it is the discipline of playing Sebastian Bach's Well Tempered Clavier and exploring the keyboard works of the great composers that brings me peace. Playing the piano is an immutable part of my life and refuge for my spirit.
